PhD students

The Davoodi Lab at the University of Utah has funded PhD openings for Spring 2026. Highly motivated candidates with interest in 3D printing for medical applications are encouraged to apply. Previous experience in the following areas are of particular interest:

  1. 3D printing of soft biomaterials
  2. biomaterial synthesis
  3. in vitro and in vivo analyses
  4. ultrasound technologies

Prospective students should meet the minimum admission requirements and apply to the Mechanical Engineering program.

MS students

We are currently accepting applications for the MS program; however, most applicants should be prepared to self-support their studies, as funding opportunities for MS students are extremely limited. Teaching assistant positions may occasionally be available on a case-by-case basis. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply through the Mechanical Engineering Department and note their interest in working with us in their statement of purpose.
